NonStop nabs Sundance features

LONDON -- Stockholm-based distrib NonStop Entertainment has acquired Scandinavian and Baltic privileges to some slew of features that opened in the Sundance Film Festival, including top prizewinners "Monsters from the Southern Wild" and "Trying to find Sugar Guy." Scandinavia is really a key territory for edgy low-budget indie fare. This Years Grand Prize champion "Winter's Bone," launched by NonStop, made more in Scandi than elsewhere outdoors The United States. "Monsters from the Southern Wild," directed by Behn Zehlin, won the Grand Jury Prize and finest cinematography award at Sundance. It had been offered by eOne. NonStop also acquired Special Jury Prize and Audience Award-winning doc "Trying to find Sugar Guy" by Malik Bendjelloul, Bart Layton's doc "The Imposter" and Lynn Shelton's drama "Your Sister's Sister" from Protagonist Pictures. It acquired Craig Zobel's "Compliance" from Reminder Films Sales, in addition to pre-purchasing Laurent Cantet's "Foxfire," that is in publish-production, and Agnes Jaoui's "Underneath the Rainbow," that will shoot later this season. Additionally, it acquired the doc "Bill Cunningham NY" from Submarine, and Matt Ross's drama "28 Rooms In HotelsInch from Elle Driver.
